The Dronfield Sports Centre located in the Civic Centre is one of the finest in the county. The complex includes a 25 metre swimming pool and a learner pool. Two sports halls cater for aerobics, archery. athletics, badminton, basketball, bowling (shortmat), dances, discos, exhibitions, 5-a-side football, gymnastics, ju jitsu, karate, keep fit, punch bag, roller skating, short tennis, table tennis, trampolining and volleyball. In addition there are squash courts, a sauna suite with steam room and multi gym. A large number of training courses are organised and entertainments include brass band concerts. Parks, Recreation Grounds and Children's Play Areas A wide range of outdoor activities are offered at the parks and recreation grounds in the town as follows:

Cliffe Park, Callywhite Lane
Children's adventure play area, enclosed sandpit, outdoor table tennis table, tennis courts, howling green. Refreshments available all year round. Floodlit all weather multi-games area, for five-a-side football, hockey.

DronfleldWoodhouse Recreation Ground, Carr lane . Children's play area, bowling green, tennis courts, basketball area, outdoor tennis table, football and cricket pitches.

Sindelfingen Park Pentland Road
Children's play area, picnic area, fun and fitness trail, full size basketball court, 12 acre parkland.

Stonelow Playing Fields, Stonelow Road 
Children's play area, football, cricket and hockey pitches.

There are additional children's play areas located at Cemetery Road, Hilltop Recreation Ground, Lundy Road, Marsh Avenue, Moonpenny Way, Stubley Place and
Thirlmere Drive.

Public Halls

Dronfield Civic Hall, Civic Centre is available for regular or casual bookings.
The Main Hall seats up to 200 people and includes a fully equipped stage and large kitchen.
The Shaun Hadley meeting room seats up to 20 people and is suitable for small meetings, coffee mornings etc. Concessionary rates apply to local organisations. For enquiries and bookings telephone 01246 418573.

Gosforth Lodge, Cliffe Park, Callywhite Lane is available for regular or casual bookings on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The Lodge seats up to 80 people and includes a large kitchen.

The Peel Centre, High Street. Available for regular or casual bookings telephone 01246 418573. The Centre seats up to 70 persons. (Thomas Taylor Hall), 132 persons (Edward Lucas Hall), 25 persons (Dr Fletcher Room), and 12 persons (John Rotherham Room), and a counselling suite comprising two interview rooms.

The James Slinn Gallery at the Peel Centre, High Street houses a growing collection of photographs, books, maps and documents relating to the history and natural history of Dronfield. The Heritage Committee, which oversee the collection, is actively collecting Dronfield material for the collection and will be happy to receive offers of items. There are some 120 allotment plots at four sites in Dronfield. The rents are very reasonable. The administration of the allotments is undertaken by the Dronfield Horticultural Society. Enquiries should be directed to the Chairman of the Society (Tel: 01246 412747).
